Introducing MSPB’s New Executive Director - Dr. Dennis Reginelli

Effective July 1, 2019, Dr. Dennis Reginelli is the executive director of the Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board. Reginelli will be assuming all the duties and responsibilities previously performed by MSPB coordinator Dr. Larry Heatherly and MSPB administrator Ms. Carol Bullard.

A native of Bolivar County, Reginelli was raised on a family farm in the Sandpit community near Shaw, Mississippi. He attended Mississippi State University, graduating with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agronomy and a doctorate in seed technology. He started his career with the Mississippi State University Extension Service in 1991 and retired as an East Mississippi Regional Extension specialist on June 30, 2019. He has over 34 years of experience in research and Extension activities across all major commodities in Mississippi.

Reginelli has received numerous awards based on his work with the Extension Service in East Mississippi, including:

  • Agronomist of the Year (2005 – Mississippi Chapter ASA)
  • Distinguished Service Award (2005 – National Association of County Agricultural Agents)
  • Distinguished Service Award (2005 – Mississippi Association of County Agricultural Agents)

In 2001, he received the Soybean Education Award from the Mississippi Association of County Agricultural Agents. He has been repeatedly recognized for his leadership in community activities in his area of residence.

Reginelli brings a wealth of experience to his role with MSPB and will work with Mississippi producers and communicate results of research and Extension trials to those producers. He and his knowledge are respected by his producer clients; plus, his Extension experience will provide valuable background and support for his myriad responsibilities with the MSPB.

The MSPB is pleased that Reginelli has accepted his new role and looks forward to him providing valuable input and expertise in support of its research and technology efforts.
